1. What information can I receive via "Subscribing to news"?
The e-mail subscription service of www.news.admin.ch provides on-going information from the Federal Administration via e-mail. Subscriptions can be chosen by subject or by division. You can choose to receive all articles related to a specific subject or from a specific division or restrict the information to press releases and speeches.
Articles by subject: If you have a subject-based subscription, you will receive any articles related to a specific subject regardless of the sender's organisational unit.
Articles by division: If you have a division-based subscription, you will only receive articles from the chosen organisational unit and its subordinate units; if you subscribe for all information from a department, you will automatically receive all articles from the subordinate federal offices.
Instead of receiving all articles from a division, you can subscribe to specific categories of this division (e.g. the category "value added tax" from the Federal Tax Administration).Back to top of page
2. What do I need to do to create a user account?
Click on "Services" / "Subscribing to news". You can create a new user account by providing a valid e-mail address and a password. Once you have entered your e-mail address, your password and your preferred language and once you have sent the form, you will receive a confirmation e-mail. To activate your user account, you must click on the link in the confirmation e-mail. You will be able to define further settings on the following page.Back to top of page
3. My login is not working (anymore)!
Have you already created a user account? If not, go to point 2. If you already have a user account and are still unable to log on, make sure you have entered the correct e-mail address and password. If your e-mail address is correct, but you have forgotten your password, we can send you an e-mail to create a new password. Change your password as soon as you receive the e-mail! 4. Can I cancel my user account?
If you would not like to receive any more articles, you can cancel your user account. Log on to the system and select the menu item "User data". If you click on "Cancel", your user account will be irreversibly cancelled. If you would like to stop receiving articles temporarily, you can deactivate your profile temporarily. If you uncheck the box next to "Profile active" you will not receive any more e-mails until you check it again.Back to top of page
5. What information can I edit in my user account?
Once you have successfully created a user account, you can edit all your user data at any time. You can also change your password or your e-mail address. To validate your new e-mail address, you will need to confirm this change in an e-mail that you will receive at the new address.Back to top of page
6. What information can I edit in my user account?
You have two options to stem the flow of incoming e-mails. If you have subscribed to receive all articles, you should limit your selection to "Send only press releases and speeches". This option is available for subject-based subscriptions and division-based subscriptions.
If you have a subject-based subscription and are receiving too many e-mails from a specific organisational unit, you can restrict the groups that send you e-mails for each subject. Edit your subject-based subscription and click on "exclude additional organisational units". In this window, you can exclude as many organisational units as you please so that you only receive information from the sources you choose.Back to top of page
